Higher Ground will host the House of LeMay's thirteenth annual, Winter is a Drag Ball on Saturday, Feb. 16.

The House of LeMay, a group of drag queens, are producing, organizing and hosting the show. The event will be held in both the Higher Ground Ballroom and Showcase Lounge.

"The Drag Ball is whatever you want it to be. You can really get into it by dressing up in any style/ kind of costume or you can dress up 'big city' for a night on the town or you can just be comfortable in whatever you feel comfortable in," says Amber LeMay, founder of the House of LeMay.

The local '80s cover band, Hot Neon Magic, will perform in the Ballroom followed by other performances including one by the University of Vermont Dance Club.

Over in the Showcase Lounge, a cabaret show will take place and will include performances by drag queens, the UVM Hit Paws and comedian Wesley Cannon.

"Come in with an open mind and a free spirit and you'll have a good time," says LeMay.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30. The tickets are $17 in advance and $23 on the day of the show and all ages are welcome. All proceeds will benefit the Montpelier-based Vermont People with AIDS Coalition.
