Noise violations lead to parents' concern about student liberties

“It’s easy to lash out at a police department, but really they should take it up with lawmakers,” Bovat said.

Although the parents may not be satisfied, the issue they brought up has gotten a conversation started.

Administrative officials, Burlington police, SGA and city leadership will meet May 3 to foster more positive relations between the city and the University.

“Unless the University steps up and starts dealing with the problems, there’s going to be severe impacts to the neighbor- hoods and to the city and to the quality of life for the students that attend the University,” Adrian said.
