As the winter blunders forwards and temperatures continue to drop, appreciating Vermont becomes a test of faith. This recipe will erase all your doubts, and it is within reach of a busy college student.

Ingredients:

-One Kielbasa Sausage

-Two cups Vermont maple syrup

-Ultimate Side Dish (aka macaroni and cheese)

Ingredients:

-One box macaroni and cheese

-Four tablespoons butter

-One fourth cup milk (the higher the percent the better)

First, open the sausage package and slice the entire sausage into about one third of an inch thick pieces. The thinner the sausage is sliced, the more the syrup can be consumed.

Place the coins in a frying pan. Pour the syrup over the top of the sausage, and cook on medium until the syrup has become extremely sticky. It should appear to have caramelized all over the sausage.

Meanwhile, boil the water for the macaroni and cheese.

This really is the best dish to go with the sausage, but if you are feeling healthier, a salad with ranch dressing does just fine.

Pour the macaroni and cheese into the water and cook until the noodles are al dente.

Mix in the milk, butter and the cheese packet.

Scoop a healthy serving of each onto a plate and enjoy!

Don't forget to try the two dishes in the same bite. It is not as gross as it seems. Long live Vermont!
