In preparation for their second season as a team, the football club has been busy this off-season.
"As a club, we're starting to do everything we can to be competitive," club president, Doug DeLuca, said.
With that in mind, the club ushered in a new coach and a new playbook, settling on the Triple Option to help their under- sized offensive line.
They have stepped up their conditioning training and have elected to participate in lifting tests and various other tests used to analyze the skill set of football players.
"If we put in the work now and take it seriously, we will benefit in the long run," De- Luca said.
The club is already benefiting from their inaugural season last year, implementing a new schedule where they will
be playing the second squad's of some Division III schools, definitely an improvement from last year.
"It's great that we're getting recognition at the Division III level," DeLuca said. "Eventually our goal is to compete against the junior varsity program's of Division I schools."
With the club taking all the right steps in all the right directions, it is fitting to see how much support they have generated through their booster club and through the old football alumni who are happy to see football back at UVM.
