Dear editor,
In regards to the complaints about parking and housing in the latest Cynic: although I hate to be the guy to tell people so, President Fogel's goals of expanding UVM's enrollment are to blame for both the parking shortage and housing shortage.
Rapid growth in such a short period of time generates a lot of operating capital but leaves little room for input from community members.
May I suggest that more students live on campus for their four years? Ditto on riding the bus, walking and commuting.
I think it's rather selfish for students to complain about the lack of either without considering the idea that non-students also need a place to live and park.
